I love the sky in this photo and the balance of sky and grass. I was torn between two photos to put up this week I went to the festival thinking of getting a good one of the stage and the band and I did but afterwards I managed to capture this photo and I couldn’t resist the sky.

This weeks photo was taken on my mums samsung galaxy s3 because I didn’t have my camera on me and I couldn’t miss the opportunity of taking a shot of CAKEE! It was also quite awkward to take this photo because everyone else at my tennis club was like CAKEE and slices were disappearing in seconds so I was reaching out getting in between the hungry racket holders to try to get a creative shot.
This weeks photo was inspired by some of Nigel Harniman’s photos featured in photography monthly. I decided to do one of my road, at first I started shooting on the pavement because my road is fairly busy but I got some hedges a bit too close up so when the traffic died down a bit I stood on the less busy part of the road. So I stood in the centre at took about 10 photos around a point to get a 360 degree view, took them inside and started editing them in photoshop CS5 . I am pleased with the outcome however I think that it would have been easier to edit if I had taken the photos in manual mode with a tripod, portrait not landscape and got more of the road and pavement. I also think it would have been more interesting if the sky had more in it like Nigel Harniman’s that had a lot of different cloads in so it made the overall outcome look a lot cooler and pleasing to the eye.
I was sorting through a box of old stuff when I found this orange finger puppet monster. So I decided to take a picture of it. I really like the reflection you get off of the table.
My sister and I went shopping yesterday and I picked up these feather earrings. I wanted to take a photo of them to upload to facebook. I really liked this photo though; I thought that the lighting sort of fit the image so i thought why don’t i put it up for this weeks photo so here you are.
This week I really wanted to get a photo of the sun setting. I missed it on Friday but I managed to grab my camera and run outside this evening. I tried a couple of shots minus the zoom burst however the trees got in the way and it didn’t really capture it the way I wanted to, and then the zoom snapped back and all was right with the world….well with the picture anyway 🙂 Taken with EOS Canon 40D
This week was a bit trickier than others, I am usually quite rushed on Fridays (the day I normally upload and take my pictures) so it is challenging to take a picture I am happy with, edit and upload it in the limited time that I have. I don’t normally edit my pictures I prefer to get the best out of what I can do with just me and my camera. This week I could not find my Canon 600D, which I prefer to use and is lighter and simpler than my 40D. When I use my 600D I generally use fully automatic, however on my 40D I either go for Av or Tv because I like to do a lot manually on the 40D as i have had it for longer and therefore no my way around it better. However I was having problems with this particular shot as I was trying to balance the depth of field and aperture at the same time because the trees in the background were to prominent for my little gnomy in the foreground but tricky as the light balance would then be uncontrollable and got fairly frustrating- as I didn’t have very long ( hence this being put up late). When I scrolled through the pictures I had taken on my camera screen I wasn’t too pleased with what I was seeing and then my time was up soooo I started contemplating whether I should put one up or not because none were a decent standard. So a little while ago I uploaded them and decided that I would put one up, no matter how bad it was, with the intentions of redoing the photo and putting it up for next weeks photo and saying what I had changed, or I would just do quite a bit of editing ;D. But when gnomy came up on my laptop screen looking as good as he did I was quite content with the little one-eyebrowed guy and decided that gnomy had done well and rightfully deserved to be my week 7 photo.
